To celebrate Raul Ibañez’s walk-off home run to defeat the Padres on Sunday, April 19, 2009, Shane Victorino and Scott Eyre give him a couple of shaving cream pies. Welcome to Philly, Raul!

Has Shane been pied(sp) yet? Seems to me like he does most of the pie-ing.

Didn’t the Phils beat the Mutts something like ten straight times at the end of the ‘07 season? The Mutts couldn’t get it done at crunch time. And Glavine’s performance for the last game of the year was simply beautiful.

That was funny. Also, Martinez HAS TO be better than Moyer. Moyer has been a complete disaster this season.

I have to playfully disagree. The late, great Harry Kalas was known to say, “Chase Utley, you are the man!”

Utley reinforced that in July 2009 with his inside-the-park HR vs. the Reds.

Regardless, Raúl Ibáñez is a Hell of a player – he blows Burrell away when it comes to the two players’ performance. I’d rather have Raúl here any day.

Most of those 10,000 losses were racked up in Baker Bowl (1887-1938).

164 years? That’s 1845 – no ballclub is that old – the Reds are the oldest club (1869). The NL was founded in 1876. The Phils have only been around for 126 years (1883).

I’m sure the Mets (owners of the worst modern-day record in MLB history, 40-120) would have racked up a lot more losses – perhaps 15,000 – had they been around since 1883.

BTW – my screen name honors a man who retired from those infamous ‘62 Mets.

To be honest, I’m not going to count the Mets out. The season is only halfway through, so a lot can happen. I hope Pedro doesn’t come to Philly; as good as he is, he’s just a giant douche.
